This thought just comes from everything going on in the world. No matter what color you are, where you come from, your religious or cultural background we are all just human. We are all trying to survive in a world that all of us live on. Nothing should be dividing us but it seems that something always is. I always respect people’s opinions but sometimes do you think logically? Do you think as a human? Can you even be human?
My reasoning for saying this is because this world is crazy. Some people have tunnel vision instead of speaking up. When you know you have the power to change things but you refuse to I consider you part of the problem. The basic fact that you can see people doing things that aren’t logical and you keep your nose to the ground is the problem. For example, police brutality is one of the major concerns in this country. I know a lot of great cops that are human, that can look at a situation and say, “this does not make sense” or “I need more information” before asserting their power. You can say, “oh that person might have been doing something wrong” or “they resisted” but when facts with visual aid show you they did nothing, then what? Some people will say they deserve it even after watching videos, while others will completely ignore it.
Based on your demographic we all experience things differently. You can’t ignore that we do. I was pulled over some time ago by a police officer. I turned off my car, put my hands and keys outside the door to show I was not a threat and kept looking forward. Personally I am truly afraid of officers and I really shouldn’t be. The officer came over and felt a bit awkward that I was doing that. He never had someone do that and could tell that I was afraid. He proceeded to tell me that my tail light was out and to just get them fixed. We did have a conversation and he said not all cops are the same, some do actually protect and serve while others have bad intentions.
My thing with these different situations in this country is until you experience it you won’t really care for it. The very moment you become a victim that’s when it’s a big deal. When someone close to you experiences one of these crazy situations you KNOW in your heart is wrong that’s when you’ll stand up and say something. That is when it’s too late and someone else gets hurt. Then you ask yourself, “Are these people really human?”
