Start Different

How are you starting your year? How are you starting your month? How are you starting your week? How are you starting your day? I feel like you should start anything new with 100% energy invested into making you great and keeping you positive. If you feel positive about whatever you are getting into then you will reach that goal that you set for yourself. Reflection on your past is always good but the reminder you have to set for yourself is, to be better and do better than what you previously did. I always see people reflect on the previous period and do nothing to improve their situation. It takes discipline, focus and the removal of distractions.

Life Journey 2018

Take this New Year to reflect on what needs to be left in your past and how to move forward. Your life journey is always changing and those involved with it are either in it or need to be left behind. We tend to forget that each day brings a chance to start fresh but it also gives us the chance to move on. Moving on has to be the hardest thing for a lot of us. We tend to hold on to the past and bring it into our current future. I speak on this a lot because carrying that dead weight around tends to hinder your growth. Growth is needed to move forward and to just live life. Continue reading

Things You Should Work On In 2016

Another year has passed and have you accomplished everything you wanted to in 2015? I would have to say I did a lot of things on my bucket list and a couple unexpected things. Another year to make those things a lot better and to improve on myself as an individual. It’s all about growing and doing things different then what I did in the previous year. Becoming a lot better then the person I was yesterday.

Be Positive
We all tend to think that all the bad that is happening in the world will continue to happen. Don’t allow the negative energy of this world to corrupt your happiness. Things always work out for the better no matter what. Think about all the things that keep you happy and moving forward. Today negative energy will not influence my life. Tomorrow negative energy will remain out my life. Just be positive and love the life you live.

Motivate Yourself
We all look for motivation from others but you should just look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I want to be better then this person in front of me.” You always want to be your own competition no matter what. That other person you are watching won’t always be available to provide you motivation but you will, so keep pushing forward.

Delete Dead Weight
Time and time again I say you have to get rid of toxic people from your life. If you don’t they will forever bring you down and consume your life with negative energy. Remove people from your life who aren’t relevant. Keep it cordial but make them aware that you are no longer dealing with the BS they are bringing to the table.

React Differently
People always expect us to react a certain way when situations happen. Just stop, listen, analyze and react differently. Reacting the same way and achieving the same results should tell you if what you are doing good or bad. When we react differently then we achieve different results, so think outside the box. Be different and do something different.

“Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today”

Don’t Make a New Years Resolution

Let’s be serious the amount of people that make a New Years resolution and don’t follow them has to be in the thousands. Why are you wasting your time with one? You just know you won’t follow it. Every year people tend to make some type of decision(s) that they want to change or do for the following year and don’t follow it. These are disguised as New Years Resolutions. Once you throw something into this category I just feel like you won’t do it. It is literally a crutch that hinders you from growth especially if you are not a motivated person.
Let’s say you are a motivated person you more then likely won’t create a New Years resolution you will just create a set of goals for yourself to achieve. For example in 2016 I want to be able to cook a 5 star meal for the people I know. This is just a statement to yourself, with no set time frame. Just in 2016 you want to be able to cook a 5 star meal. Unexpected things could happen and make you completely forget about this resolution, even if you put it on a sticky note on your wall. In the next 3 months I want to be able to cook a 5 star meal for the people I know. Right here you’re sounding like a champ, you set a goal for yourself to complete this in the next 3 months. Setting a goal for yourself it will always ring in your head like, “Hey buddy, didn’t you want to learn how to cook or nah?” “You really suck right now if you don’t get these cooking skills up”,” So you really going to ignore me right now?” It will just keep reminding you that you set a goal for yourself and you haven’t started to work on it. New Years resolutions people create all the time and just throw them in the trash or recycle it for the next time you have to make a New Years resolution.  The moment you make a New Years resolution you already lost the race.
Not saying that people don’t stick to them but something has to drive you to want to stick to it. The biggest New Years resolution I hear from most people is that they are going to the gym and trying to be healthy this year. Don’t lie to yourself, you are only hurting you and not me. People start in the gym maybe a good 2-3 weeks and then just burn out. They see a little result and say, “Yeah I am good for the year.” The moment the summer come and you see one of your friends reaching a “goal” they set for themselves instead of a New Years resolution then you are going to want to hit the gym more often. You don’t realize that progress doesn’t happen overnight and you can’t get that body you wanted immediately. So you wait until New Years Eve and make another resolution to yourself that you won’t keep.
Moral of the story, just set goals for yourself. New Years resolutions aren’t realistic achievements and are more like wishes. “I wish I could do this” or “I wish I could do that.” You should actually set realistic goals for yourself. Give yourself a deadline to reach your goal and push yourself to meet them. You will have to stay consistent in everything you do to show your growth but you will make it in no time. You are the only thing holding you back from being great.

“You can make a wish, or you can make it happen”
