I think that a lot of us don’t know how to be alone. The fact that with a pandemic happening that people don’t know how to just sit down and stop moving tells you that. With the coronavirus happening and governments just shutting down everything to stop the spread of the virus people have taken it upon themselves to not listen. Not listen as far as not being outside and interacting with people, unless absolutely required. Be alone and appreciate your time to just be in your space.
These are some hard times because I personally don’t like being told what to do, especially if I already do it. I’ve realized with this virus that people don’t know how to be alone, they always need to be around people. Yes alone time catches up to you but it also teaches you a lot about yourself. I see people being pressured by social media to pick up a new skill or start a new business but honestly, do whatever the fuck you want. I will say it again for the people in the back but DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT. I find myself in my space just meditating, healing my mind, writing, planning travel destinations for later in the year, video chatting people I haven’t talked to in years and just enjoying my space. Sometimes it can be too much and you just want to get out but appreciate your alone time while you can. If you are able to be alone for an extended period you will appreciate the time you actually get to spend with the right people afterwards. People find it weird when I say, “ thank you for spending time with me” or “thank you for just hanging out with me” because it’s supposedly not normal but I value people’s time. Time is something you can never get back and you just have to appreciate it.
Look at the time that you spend on you and see if it’s enough. Do you spend enough alone time with yourself to just heal your mind, body and spirit? Make sure you are good with just being alone and not having to be around people all the time. You don’t have to feel forced to do what social media tells you to do with your alone time but appreciate it.
